Week 29 - dare

Looking back over my life the past ten years, I think two small decisions have made the most difference: when I decided I was sick of being frightened about all the dangers in the world and decided to stop praying so desperately for safety and instead began praying for courage.  And then praying gratitude for the safety I've experienced so far.

Life-changing. I would never go back.

each pond with its blazing lilies
is a prayer heard and answered
lavishly,
every morning,

whether or not
you have ever dared to be happy,
whether or not
you have ever dared to pray.
